Terms & Conditions

Written in plain English. Designed to be fair and easy to understand.

Effective date: 24 May 2026

Thanks for choosing Onside IT. These Terms and Conditions explain how we work. By booking a service with us, you agree to these terms.

Our services

We provide onsite and remote IT support, troubleshooting, installations, consulting, and managed IT services for home users and small businesses.

The exact scope of work for each job will be agreed with you before work begins. If additional work is needed outside the original scope, we'll discuss it with you first.

Pricing

All pricing is quoted upfront and includes GST unless stated otherwise. We won't begin chargeable work without first agreeing on pricing with you.

Any additional hardware, software, subscriptions, replacement parts, or third-party vendor costs are charged separately unless clearly included in your quote.

No fix, no fee

For standard support jobs, if we cannot resolve the agreed issue through reasonable troubleshooting, you won't be charged labour.

This does not apply to:

If a diagnostic fee applies, we'll tell you upfront.

Payment terms

For one-off jobs, payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise. Managed IT services are billed monthly in advance.

We accept bank transfer, card payment, and cash. Late or unpaid invoices may result in service suspension or reasonable recovery costs.

Managed IT plans

Our managed services are month-to-month unless otherwise agreed in writing. You may cancel with 30 days written notice. There are no early termination fees unless agreed as part of a separate fixed-term contract.

Remote support authorisation

By requesting remote support, you authorise us to remotely access your devices, systems, or accounts as reasonably required to diagnose and resolve your issue. We will only access what is necessary to perform the requested work.

Your responsibilities

To help us help you, you agree to:

If you're unsure how to back up your data, ask us. We're happy to help.

Data and backups

We take reasonable care when working on your systems and data. However, technology work carries inherent risk, especially where systems are already unstable or damaged.

You remain responsible for maintaining current backups of your important files and systems. Unless caused by our wilful misconduct, Onside IT is not responsible for data loss, corruption, or recovery costs.

Liability

We always aim to deliver great service and professional advice. However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount paid for the affected service.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, business interruption, or loss of data, except where required by law.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Your statutory rights always apply.

Complaints

If something hasn't gone right, please tell us. We take customer service seriously and will do our best to resolve concerns quickly and fairly.
